On Friday the grade sixes had the opportunity to meet their grade seven teachers and to visit the high school. Each class was given time to spend with every grade seven teacher and to engage in some kind of fun activity with them, such as learning how to make origami frogs which ‘jump’!
A sneak peek into one of the classrooms also revealed a super activity where the grade sixes are given a paper on which they write to their grade seven selves, entitled ‘Dear grade seven Me’. The letters are then sealed with wax and kept until the end of next year. I can only imagine how fascinating and enlightening it must be for the children when they are eventually allowed to read what they have written a year before!
There was a lot of excitement and enjoyment during the course of the morning, from both children and teachers alike! A fabulous time was had by all!
This term has been full of exciting activities. Our rugby players hosted 26 young Oakhill rugby enthusiasts from Knysna. Matches were played over the long weekend on the 10th of August. Our U12s won 55-5 and our U10/11s won 7-5.
The “Jungle Book” was a huge success and we know that a lot of memories were made. Go Elkanah SP!
